Library

The school has two libraries, the Main library in Ias Town campus and Primary section library at Sitra campus.

The Library has more than 25,000 volumes on various subjects which provide useful reading materials for various subjects as well as project work. The Library has more than 1500 reference books and there are separate department sections.

All the books are bar-coded and arranged in classification order and checked-out through computers.

The Library is has OPAC (on-line public access catalogue) facility to check the books through Title, Author, Classification, Subject and Publishers in alphabetical order. This on-line catalogue facility helps the reader to check the status of the book .(whether the particular book is availableon the shelf).

The Library is subscribing to more than 30 magazines and 12 news papers local as well as Indian. The List is updated from time to time. There is also an audio visual section attached to the library equipped with Multimedia projection.





Physics, Chemistry and Biology Senior Secondary Labs

There are two laboratories each for Physics, Chemistry and Biology to meet the requirements of the senior secondary school students. All the labs are equipped with the most modern facilities and instruments to cater to the needs of the students. The laboratories are extensively used by the students even for advanced investigatory projects.


Computer Science Lab

The reoriented computer education programme caters to the needs of all the students of the school. The newly reinstalled computer lab has all the latest facilities for a comprehensice computer education. The computer lab is equipped with the best computer hardware and also interconnected with work stations with the latest softwares installed and reference materials available enabling the students to get information with regard to developments in this area.

To prepare the students to face the challenges of the 21st century, the school has computer literacy programme from classes I to XII. The school has four laboratories in its Isa Town complex. Each lab has 40 terminals and a multimedia projector for effective learning process. The students are taught programming skills starting with the basics of computer and towards their graduation they will be fully computer literate.


Physics, Chemistry and Biology Junior Labs

For the students of the secondary level (Classes IX and X) there are three well furnished, junior labs (physics, chemistry and biology) setup in the Nethaji block.


Junior Science Lab

Students of Classes V to VIII are provided with a well equipped junior science lab in the campus.

 




Biotech


The school has set up a state-of-the-art Biotechnology Laboratory for the students who opt for Biotechnology as an elective subject at the higher secondary level.


Maths Lab

In line with the new approach of CBSE in teaching Mathematics as an intersting subject, Mathematics Department has developed many modules to give practical experience to our students. A mathematics lab was setup in the year 2004.

 

Engineering Drawing Lab

Students who opt for Engineering Drawing are also provided with a well equipped laboratory, spacious enough to accommodate forty students.

 




Psychology Lab

Psychology being one of the elective subjects in the Humanities Stream, the school has set up a Psychology Laboratory in the old Administration Block.


Computer Education Programme
 

In order to prepare the students to face the challenges of the 21st century, the School has made Computer Education Programe compulsory from classes I to XII. The School has five laboratories in its Isa Town Campus. Each laboratory has 40 terminals and a multimedia projector for effective learning process. The students are taught programming skills starting with the basics of computer familiarization and when they leave the School, they are expected to be fully computer literate. The Sitra Campus has two laboratories with 35 terminals each.
 
Physical Education
 
Physical education is an integral part of any system of education since a sound mind can be developed only in a sound body. A special curriculum has been developed by the P.E.D which makes it possible for every student to participate and excel in the field of physical activity of his/ her choice.

As physcical education is compulsory with internal assessment, the schedule is in built into the time-table itself. From classes I to V, students are provided with general physical education activities and from class VI onwards, they are given a wide choice of games like Badminton, Basketball, Football, Gymnastics, Kung-Fu, Swimming, Tennis and Table Tennis.

The school has one football field, two basketball and two Voleyball courts and a tennis court all located in the campus providing facilities of outdoor games, while Badminton and Table-Tennis are played as indoor games in the Jashanmal Auditorium.

The school is well equipped with Gymnastics facilities and offer the best training to the students. The school is affiliated to Kung-fu Do, India, the school of Martial Arts and every year students are trained to take the tests for Black Belt.

The swimming Pool is an additional facility provided to the students during class hours. The swimming gala to mark the National Day celebrations is an eagerly awaited event for our swimmers.





 



Photography


The School trains the students in photography . A well equipped laboratory with a dark room has been provided for this purpose. The students take part in varios competitions and the best exhibits are awarded trophies and certificates.

Art Education
The Art Education Department has developed a broad based curriculum in the following disciplines:

. Creative Crafts

Visual Art
Under Visual arts, students are trained in Sketching, drawing, water colour/oil painting, cloth Batik, Textile/Graphic/Creative Designing etc., They are also trained to make posters, cartoons, folders, greeting cards, clay models etc.

The students compete in a large number of competitions, conducted by various regional and international organizations and have won awards and acclaims. Students avail of intensive coaching in all of the above even during the summer vacation.


Performing Art
Under the performing arts, the students can opt for Hindustani/ Carnatic Vocal Music. They are given intensive training by our teachers enabling them to take part in competitions conducted by the school and to perform with confidence.

The syllabus is result oriented. The school provides coaching in Bharat Natyam. The students so trained take part in functions/ competitions held by the school and other organizations on the island.


Creative Craft
The students receive regular training in Vegetable carving, Flower arrangement, Cookery etc., in the Home Science Department.








School Band
 

The Indian School Band was formed in 1994 with 35 students over the years it has witnessed a tremendous progress music military Band formations. Now it's the biggest brass Band among Gulf schools having 150 musicians with Jazz Drums,March Drums,Trumpets,Clarinets,Saxophones,Bugles,Flutes & Trambones artists.

    Discipline & Perfection is the motto of the Band
